Annapolis Peace Conference - The Day After

At the Annapolis Peace Conference this last Tuesday, President George Bush read aloud the joint statement that both Prime Minister Ehud Olmert and Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas had agreed upon. "In furtherance of the goal of two states, Israel and Palestine, living side by side in peace and security, we agree to immediately launch good-faith bilateral negotiations in order to conclude a peace treaty."

Only one day after the Annapolis conference ended, the Palestinian Authority aired on PA-TV a map replacing all of Israel with the colors of the Palestinian flag. Despite the efforts of the U.S. to negotiate peace between both countries, the PA continues to feed to its population with hatred by portraying a world where Israel does not exist.

This is why trading land for peace will fail. Annapolis was good for photo-ops and appearances. But when the dust settled at the end of the day, the fact that remained was their will be no peace until Israel has vanished from the region. “For He [God] recognizes and knows hollow, wicked, and useless men (men of falsehood); when He sees iniquity, will He not consider it?” Job 11:11
